Motion Graphics Reel
I am developing my skills in motion graphics, and currently utilize After Effects, Trapcode, Cinema 4D, Adobe Creative Suite, Shake, and Apple Motion. Be it kinetic text, 3D modeling and logos, live-action integration, particles, infographic how-to's, broadcast graphics such as show opens, lower thirds, credit lists, or animated Flash web banners... I do it all or die trying! The reel features client and self-directed work from 2010.

Basketball Promo
I wanted to create a short station ID that was really clean and simple, sort of like the W Network's 3D animated ID's (one has a bunch of highheeled shoes becoming a flower, another has a paint roller in CU that pulls back to reveal the letter W). I ended getting away from that a bit as I worked, mainly not wanting to do anything that girly. So, I did kind of a sports theme for a basketball show that features vintage games. The logo references the Converse All-Stars logo, and there's some 70's style Cooper text and shoelace text, some collegiate style text, and a muted colour scheme. If I had some knock-off Harlem Globetrotters whistling music I'd put it in there.
Window Bullet Comp
The Window Bullet composite is a short squib-hit shot which required a number of steps to bring it to final. First off; there were two colour-timed plates - one exposed for outside and the other for the inside of the classroom. The windows were keyed and roto'd to reveal the correct exterior exposure and the foreground subjects had to be roto'd during the frames where they crossed in front of the windows. A bullet hole, bullet-hit, and splatter were added to the scene, and a blood patch was hand animated onto the guy's back. To top it off, a crew member reached in to stop the actor's fall, so the hands had to be patched and painted out over a series of frames, and grain added to bring it all together.
Helicopter Wire Removal
This helicopter miniature shoot required a wire and rig removal. The shot is locked-off with only some slight cloud movement, so a clean plate for sky and earth was generated by painting on a still for each. The sky layer was animated ever so slightly to get the clouds moving again, then the wires and rig were masked-out, and the chopper and explosion keyed and roto'd so it could be laid over top again. Kaboom!
Psych Muzzle Flashes
I completed two muzzle flash shots for season 4 of the television series Psych. In addition to the actual gun fire, it was important to add interactive lighting and shell casings to the scenes. Compositing done with Shake.
Visa Give+Go Mograph
This motion graphics piece helps illustrate the key benefits of a new Visa gift card, which offers the recipient the opportunity to buy themself a gift, while also giving to a charity of their choice. The client provided a voice-over and a loose script to work from, so I got down to work developing a storyboard, creating the elements, and ultimately delivered the animation on a very tight timeframe.
Car Ad Sky Replace
This comp uses a tracked corner pin effect to attach a licence plate to the moving car, followed by a replacement of the rather dreary sky with something more dramatic. The plate is then colour-corrected to match the new sky, the car antenna is roto'd back over the horizon, and a flare is added for further awesomeness.
